After entertaining the masses in Hadh Kardi Aapne and Pyar Diwana Hota Hain, Govinda and Rani Mukherjee come together once again in Chalo Ishq Ladaayen. The film is produced by Vijay Mehta. Aziz Sejawal who had earlier made films like Baap Numberi Beta Dus Numberi, Adharam, Andolan, Shatranj, Hero Hindustani and Chhupa Rustom, is the director of the film. Chalo Ishq Ladaayen tells the story of Pappu (Govinda) and his loving relationship with his grandmother (Zora Sehgal) who slaps him at a drop of a hat. For her, Pappu is still a child at heart even though he may have grown up physically and become matured mentally. Pappu falls for Sapna (Rani Mukherjee). Will she be able to comprehend Pappu's relationship with his grandmother? Co-starring Sanjay Suri, Mink and kader Khan the film has music by Himesh Reshammiya. |

Really 2 1/2 stars because it is lifted, in some cases scene for scene, from Throw Mamma from the Train. On the other hand, Rani shows much promise in her early career as a celebrity. If you like Govinda, you should enjoy this. I am not the biggest Govinda fan, but I do like Rani and they make a good pair. Not great, but if you have never seen the original this should be quite enjoyable. |
